Make your day !
Little things of joy in memorable events create lasting impressions in your life. Memories are what that make festivals and holidays so special.
Wouldn’t it be great if every day was as special as Christmas and new year? If every
day is significant, eventful and has a meaning?
Make your day is an interesting practice for fabulous
living.15 years ago my best friend Swathi Durai made up with this awesome exercise
on a summer holiday. Although she was a teenager then, it is still relatable in
my adulthood and much more relevant. I want to share it with you to spread the
sunshine.
All you need is a little imagination and a desire to
celebrate life. What you need to do is dedicate each day to something.
Something that that you love or hate or feel nothing for. It can be a person, a
thing, a feeling, a pet. Anything! Then give that day a name and celebrate your
made-up festival. Like how we have Mother’s Day, doctor’s day, friendship day,
you can create “Reading day”,” lazy day”, “gardening day”, “Pizza day”,”
learning day”, “Jokes day”,” Angry”,” blue day”. It doesn’t have to be
something meaningful, deep and sophisticated. It can be anything big or small.
The idea is to choose something significant each day and make that day all
about it. To celebrate the beauty and joy of all things in your life. To make
each day interesting and significant. This way you will automatically make each
day memorable and special. You will also find yourself coming up with new and
creative ways to “make your day”. You will do all that you need to do to
prioritize the selected object of celebration that day and do a new activity.
This is what is “Make Your Day” all about. Taking pictures can make it fun and writing about your days is great too. The best thing you get out of this simple "Make your day" is a sense of fulfillment which is priceless.
Just for you to start with I have listed a few of my ideas
to “make your day”. This is just a rough idea. You can come up with new ones on
your own. Imagination is limitless. There is no rule. So, go crazy!
