Possession
#CuppaHeartChocolate Story 4:
This was Zia's first visit to her aunt Ida's house in 30 years. It was a humble abode in a village where her great grandmother had grown up.They had a hut with mud walls and a small front yard providing home for a stray dog ,2 kittens,3 hens and a few trees .All this was protected by the simple fence made of twigs.Inside this fence was a huge mango tree🌳with its large shady crown overhanging to other side of fence. Zia asked Ida whether she could pluck a Mango.Ida replied, "okay but make sure to take mangoes that's from "our" side of the tree and not the other side of fence". Zia couldn't understand why because the other side was just the street and not anyone's house. Ida explained casually "The passers by on the street pluck mangoes from the part that hangs over the street and we don't want to ruin their share". Zia was like,"They're share? That's your tree auntie and why don't you stop them".Aunt Ida looked genuinely surprised and told, "It's a fruit. It's food. How can i stop someone from eating something. That too is from the TREE❤".City bred Zia was speechless .It took few minutes for her to process this new perspective.Every morsel of food from the mother Nature belongs to everyone equally. We don't have any exclusive right of possession over the "mango trees" of the world. Sharing is not charity.Sharing is fairness!✍️
